The first sentence in this book is impressive. It reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”. The undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession.

People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. In fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. After reading this book, I know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.

I couldn’t forget how eager Mrs. Bennet wants to marry off her daughters. If you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, I must mention the situation in Britain at that time. Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions. Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. The characters in the novel all had their own opinions on marriage. Mrs. Bennet, for instance, has only one aim-that of finding a good match for each of her five daughters.

As for Elizabeth, who is the second daughter in the Bennet family said that only deep love would persuade her to marry which was why she would probably end up an old maid. Lydia and Charlotte, however, were two extremes. The former just married for sex, while the latter married for a comfortable home and protection.

There are just so many different characters that were all formed under the society of England in 18’s century. Then, there was filled with unfairness between men and women. Just as what Jane Austen said,”It is a truth universally knowledge, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. ”

During the holiday, I read a book called pride and prejudice, which is verygood-looking. It makes me feel a lot, and I also feel a lot.

Pride and Prejudice is the representative work of Jane Austen, a famousBritish writer. It describes the emotional entanglement between the arrogantsingle youth Darcy and the prejudiced second Miss Elizabeth, the wealthy singlearistocrat Bingley and the virtuous first Miss Jane.

This book makes me realize that people should get along with each otherharmoniously and dont misunderstand each other because of a small matter. Weshould also learn to understand each other, not because of other peoplesprovocation and constitute harm to others; learn to tolerate each other. Makeour society better.

This book also makes me feel that this pair of "arrogance" and "Prejudice"have a happy marriage after many setbacks.

We should not give up because of a little setback. We should learn topersist. Persistence is victory!

The main plot is nothing more than the chat aboutmarriage and property in the front of the fireplace and in the meeting ofrelatives and friends, the bee chase and butterfly chase in the market, church,dance, banquet and other occasions, and the love talk.

The arrogance of Darcy and the prejudice of the heroine all have obviousclass attribute. Their frustrations in love are not due to their accidentalmisunderstanding, but because there is an inevitable gap between the two sidesin different class status. Elizabeth, as a middle-class common girl, only byvirtue of the charm of her personality and her excellent quality, won the fameand fortune of the noble young master, and finally became a good couple withher. This is another copy of Cinderellas story.

The same is true in life. Only by putting down the arrogant attitude,throwing away the prejudiced vision, treating with empathy, and understandingeach other through communication, can we know each other. Like Mr. Darcy in thebook, although the appearance gives the impression of arrogance, arrogance andsuperciliousness. But the heart is kind and sincere and willing to let go, itsattitude of not stubborn is really appreciated.
