语音

发音的重要性

既然是口语考试,当然要考核考生的发音。然而,在托福考试中,考生讲话的时候,带一点口音是没有问题的。

每一位考生都各自有各自的特殊口音,他们的发音都不够标准、不够地道,然而这个事实并未影响他们获得满分;这是因为托福考试并不要求考生发音“标准、地道”。

发音的准确性

在托福考试中,读得不准是可以接受的,只要不至于夸张到每个音节都读得不准。重音把握错误是更为严重、也更为常见的现象。

很多单词都有若干个不同词性的衍生词,由于音节数量发生了变化,于是重音所在也往往会发生变化。

意群划分

在自然语流之中,人们使用长短不一的停顿来划分意群。

在讲外语的时候,意群划分不合理,在不恰当之处出现停顿,甚至是很长的停顿,往往会造成不可修复的的缺陷对方不仅要耗费很大的力气,还要有足够的耐心才能够完全理解那断断续续的语流。

具体的做法

平日里就要养成良好的习惯,每学一个单词,就最好查查词典,把每个单词的读音都搞清楚。

为了使自己有足够正确的、不至于让别人完全无法读懂的语音,自我训练的方法其实只有一个,跟读。通过跟读掌握口语的语音语调,提升口语分数。

语法

语法作为托福口语中的另一个隐形杀手,一定要引起同学们的注意。在语法部分经常会犯的错误主要有主谓一致、时态一致和人称一致 。这些语法想象虽然简单,如果让同学们不会犯错,但是如果说出来的话就可能会犯错。

很多同学考完语法后自我感觉良好,可是拿到成绩单后却大跌眼镜,殊不知都是这些隐形的语法知识在作怪。

主谓一致性

在托福口语中一定要把语法用准确。主语是第三人称时谓语要做第三人称单数的变形,当主语是名词性从句,动词不定式,和动名词时,谓语也要用第三人称单数。

时态一致性

过去时的使用是时态使用中较为简单的一种。可是,要做到在答题时需要使用过去时的时候都记得要使用过去时却没那么容易。

同学在答题时会把注意力集中到语言的组织上,无暇顾及时态,所以常常会出现时态的混用。

语法点的小技巧

在托福口语答题中使用到可数名词时要么前面加“the”表特指,要么前面加“a”表个别,要么后面加“s”表一群。可同学答题时往往把可数名词孤零零放在那儿,什么也不加。

这些小的语法点需要同学们在练习的过程中一定要有针对性的去练习,强迫自己改掉这些错误的用法消除托福口语中的杀手。
