I’m quite into music for the reason that it never fails to cheer me up.

I love my name coz it makes people easily remember me.

I enjoy playing computer games as it’s really fun and it’s a great way to loosen up.

I can’t stand public transportation coz every time I take a bus or subway, especially during rush hours, it’s packed like sardines and I feel like I’m going to die.

Swimming would be the last thing (that) I want to do. And as I see it, it’s mainly because once I almost drowned in a river when I was little. It was so horrible.

I’m a big fan of classical music thanks to my mom, who used to put on some music by Beethoven or Schubert at home when I was a kid.

I find it great to ride bicycles thanks to my bestie, Lily, who is a super fan of cycling. Actually, she always invites me to some local cycling events and gradually it’s become a necessary part of my life as well.

I mean/Actually/In fact/For example, what, who, when, where, why。

What’s your favorite part of your country? I definitely think the food culture is the best part of my country。 (直接作答)I mean, China never fails to satisfy all peoples’ needs for tasty food。 (给原因)Although sometimes the way we make food is not that healthy, I still think it’s an ideal place for foodies for the reason that it has a lot to offer, from spicy food to light-cooked food to various kinds of dessert。

Are science museums popular in China?

Definitely! Science museums are popular among not only science buff but also people who are not that crazy about science Actually, no matter it’s during the weekdays or on the weekends, science museums are always busy and full of visitors (给细节)。 As I see it, it’s mainly because the exhibitions/displays in those science museums enable people to enhance their knowledge about S&T in an interactive and vivid way (给原因)。

Are the news reported by CCTV true?

I believe most of the news reported by CCTV are in consistent with (和...一致) realities, but due to some political reasons, CCTV has to censor some information, and to some extent (在某种程度上), it's protecting us.

What job is well-paid in China?

As far as I know, people who work in real estate have very comfortable income. The housing price is incredibly high in China, in some metropolises (大都市) like Shanghai, the average housing price for one square meter can be as much as 50,000 yuan or even higher, so real estate a very lucrative (利润丰厚的) business.

Where do Chinese people like to read and write?

Chinese people don't like to read and write.

点评:Speak for yourself, ok?!

Traditionally, people read and write in their study (书房) or libraries, but I think more and more people prefer to read and write in cafes, because the atmosphere is great and we can study or work over a nice cup of coffee, it makes the experience more enjoyable.

Where do Chinese people make friends?

Besides the occassions where we usually socialize, like parties or schools, we can also make friends over the internet. Social network websites and cell phone applications make it easy and convenient for us to meet interesting people and make friends with them.

Who is your favorite celebrity (名人)?

You know? He is ... Boom shakalaka (然后唱了半分钟)。

My favorite celebrity is a korean pop star named Quanzhilong who is extremely popular among young people these days. I admire him for his talent and good personality.

Are there any kind of special trees in China?

Actually, I don't really have this field of knowledge (知识领域),I like many kinds of trees though, there is one kind with yellow leaves that I particularly like which is called Yin Xing in Chinese, but I'm not sure if it grows in China exclusively (独有的)。

How do seeds grow into plants?

Actually, I don't have much expertise (专业知识) about plants, I just have some common knowledge, like seeds need fertilizer, water, air, and sunshine to grow, and after some time, they become plants.

雅思口语Part2话题高分范文:a special meal you were invited to

Describe a special meal you were invited to.

You should say:

When and where you were invited

Who invited you

What you ate

And explain how you felt about the meal.

Ok then, well I’m actually quite lucky in the fact that I’ve been invited to quite a number of special meals, and the one I’ve decided to talk to you about was a farewell dinner of a good friend of mine, because he was about to go off to Canada for a few years to start university there, so he invited a few of his close friends for a farewell dinner before heading off.

And one of the reasons I’ve chosen to talk about this meal instead of some of the others I’ve been to is simply that it’s still quite fresh in my memory. You know, it was only about a couple of weeks ago when it happened. And as for where we had the meal, well I can’t remember the exact name of the place, but it was quite a posh restaurant somewhere in the centre of the city, and judging from how nice it looked when I walked in, it seemed to be a pretty expensive place to dine. So I was kind of relieved that it wouldn’t be me footing the bill! And we also had our own separate room, which was nice, and probably just as well, seeing as we made quite a bit of noise during the meal, what with all the laughing and stuff going on.

Anyway regarding what we ate, well I couldn’t tell you every single dish that we had, because there was just so much, you know, the whole table was literally covered with food. I mean, there was crab, chicken, duck, what else, um,……oh yeah, shrimps, and, uh…..oh and a whole load of different vegetables. So by the end of it, I was absolutely stuffed. You know, we all ate masses, because the food was so good, and it would have been a bit of a pity to see it go to waste!

But anyway, finally then, with regard to how I felt about the meal, well to put it simply, I really enjoyed it. Because as well as the food, which was fantastic, I really enjoyed everyone’s company. You know, it was great being together with so many good friends, many of which I hadn’t seen in quite a while.

So yeah, all in all, it was a really special evening, and I’m extremely grateful to have been invited, and also very grateful to my friend for his generosity, as the bill must have come to quite a lot, I’m sure!

Notes:

Ok then = Ok, (I’m ready to begin). You can also say, “Ok right then” or “Ok then”

I’m actually quite lucky in the fact that I’ve been invited to quite a number of special meals = 我其实很幸运因为我很多次被邀请参加特殊晚餐 (or something like that!)

it’s still quite fresh in my memory = I can remember it pretty clearly

it was just as well = 幸亏如此

quite a bit of = quite a lot of

foot the bill = pay the bill (买单)

by the end of it = 到最后

I was absolutely stuffed =

(you can use "absolutely" before extreme adjectives for emphasis, for example: "the show was absolutely amazing"! 演出太精彩了!/ I'm absolutely starving! 我饿死了!but you can't say "I'm absolutely hungry", as "hungry" isn't a strong enough adjective.)

we all ate masses = 我们都吃了好多

So yeah = 所以嗯 (often used at the beginning of the final sentence when you are finishing your talk/answer)

Quite a while = quite a long time

as the bill must have come to quite a lot = the bill must have been expensive
